What you will make

Make this delightful round  basket and learn many of the basic basketry techniques.  Its useful for gathering and displaying fruit or veg or use it as a bread basket.

• Weaving up the sides

• Creating  a simple border

• Adding a stick handle

Meet your tutor: Lisa Dear Lisa makes functional and sculptural basketry, predominantly using willow but also incorporating materials gathered from the Sussex woodlands where she spends most of the year. Originally self taught she is guided by traditional British and European basketry techniques and contemporary influences. She finds inspiration in the quiet of the natural world where she spends extensive periods of time, living closely with the land, in  long conversation with nature. She regularly sells, teaches and exhibits in Sussex.
