Oval Frame Basket

This basket is constructed using two hoops, one for the rim and one for the handle. These are connected together with a gods eye. Students will then insert ribs and use a randing weave to construct the basket.

The shape of this basket is very versatile and can be tailored to the individual’s design. The ribs provide the skeleton to weave over. Once completed this basket is very strong and can be used as a shopper or for a myriad of uses around the house and garden. Suitable for beginners.

Students will learn,

1. How to connect the starting hoops together using a god eye weave.

2. How to prepare and shape ribs

3. How to do a randing weave to complete the basket.
